AR Modular RF's KMW2030 Amplifier System For Tactical Radios Receives Additional JITC Certification

AR Modular RF has received JITC certification for its KMW2030 tactical radio amplifier system (30 MHz - 512 MHz / 125 watts) when used with the Harris PRC-117G tactical radio. It has been previously certified for use with the PRC 117F and the PSC-5D. The KMW2030 was tested along with its associated Low Noise SATCOM pre-amp, the KMW2030P.

This auto-band switching AM/FM-UHF/VHF DAMA amplifier uniquely fills the need for high-power tactical communications from ground vehicles, and can also be used for aircraft tactical operations. Designed for easy operation, the user need only select MODE and POWER LEVEL to operate.

The "Battle Tested" amplifier is protected against antenna mismatch, over-temperature, excessive current draw, high VSWR, and DC power mismatch.

AR Modular RF Introduces Enhanced Heat Sink AR-50 Tactical Booster Amplifier

New, improved Model AR-50 (30 - 512 MHz / 50 watts) handles a higher duty cycle and has a 30% increase in thermal capability

AR Modular RF has made significant changes to its model AR-50 automatic band-switching RF booster amplifier. The newly released version of this portable lightweight booster amplifier (designed for multi-band VHF/UHF tactical radio equipment) features an enhanced heat sink, which allows for greater heat dissipation. The new design has more and larger fins that improve the unit's thermal capability by as much as 30%.

The AR-50 booster amplifier enhances tactical radio signals from handheld and back-pack transceivers operating in the 30 - 512 MHz band. It provides 50 watts output with as little as 2 watts input and offers two antenna ports dedicated to line-of-sight (LOS) or UHF Satellite (SATCOM). The system also provides a switchable low-noise amplifier (LNA) and a variable RF output level control. The small, compact unit can run from either 12v or 24v vehicle power systems. The original model AR-50, which was introduced last year, has already proven to be an invaluable tool for helping troops to maintain reliable communication even in the worst conditions and harshest environments.

Communications Amplifiers: Can They Really Take You Farther and Help You Be Heard Better?

As a designer and manufacturer of RF amplifiers we have always been confident in telling our customers that the more power output you have, the "better" your communications link. Just what is "better" needs defining of course; but simplistically you can either "go farther" or "be heard better," sometimes both at once, all other things being equal. The question of just how much "better" is a lot harder to quantify.

New Orders for the Latest Version of the Proven KMW1031 20W Booster Amplifier Have Been Awarded to AR Modular RF

AR Modular RF has taken orders and begun shipments of the latest version KMW1031 amplifier. The KMW1031 is the latest and improved version of it's popular 20W man-pack tactical radio booster amplifier. This new fully automatic version is smaller, uses the latest state of the art amplification devices such that it can be powered from one UBI-2590 or similar battery, and can be used in both 12 and 24 VDC vehicles. Like its predecessor the KMW1031 is fully submersible, with fully automatic band switching offering a minimum output of 20 watts across the full band of 30 - 512 MHz. It has automatic high speed switching of its internal filters to allow SINCGARS and other hopping modes across the full spectrum. Like both previous models it includes vehicle voltage suppression circuits, RF sensing Tx/Rx switching, and has an Automatic Leveling Control (ALC) that handles inputs from 1 to 10 Watts.
